Golden Emperor - Cicada Luxury Camping is a slice of paradise hidden in nature's embrace.

Nestled in the valley just outside of Kiama is Cicada Luxury Camping tents. Arriving in the late afternoon, we followed the winding road through the rolling hills that eventually opened up to reveal a breathtaking view. As we parked our car and stepped out, the warm breeze was welcoming, and stayed with us for the next two nights. The check-in process was seamless, we were led to our luxurious tent by Nick our host.

Inside, a plush king-sized bed, kitchenette, bathroom and space to hang out. Outside a private outdoor deck with a large outdoor bath and view that took our breath away. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we made our way to the campfire area where we enjoyed a cheese platter and wine. Soon it was time for dinner so we cooked up a meal and enjoyed the magic of being under a sky full of stars.

The next morning, we were awakened by the gentle rays of the sun filtering through the tent's sheer curtains and the sounds of farm life waking up. Over a morning coffee from Nude Nutrition in Kiama we decided to embark on a hiking adventure to Minnamurra Falls. The trail led us through the heart of a pristine rainforest, where towering palms created a lush green canopy overhead. The path, though occasionally uneven and challenging, was a delightful adventure in itself, with tree roots and rocks adding to the charm of the walk. As we followed the meandering course of the Minnamurra River, the peaceful sounds of the forest surrounded us, from the gentle babbling of the water to the calls mimicking calls of lyre birds. Finally, when I reached the falls, we were was blown away – a curtain of water from above, glistening in the dappled sunlight. It was a moment of stillness a reminder of the incredible beauty that can be discovered in nature's hidden corners.

The second night was dedicated to stargazing in the outdoor bath. Golden Emperor is located far away from the city's light pollution, making it an ideal spot for looking at the stars.

Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, an adventure, or a solo retreat, this place has it all. We left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and grateful for the opportunity to experience such a unique and luxurious camping experience. It's a destination we can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking a memorable escape from the ordinary.

Arriving in the late afternoon to Coastie Valley Tinyhouse we were greeted by golden hues sinking below the valley of gum trees. Quick to settle in, we popped a bottle of wine and enjoyed a glass on the deck before heading out to Six String Brewery for dinner.

The next day we woke to find the Tinyhome was filled with warm morning light, opening up the space with the concertina window we enjoyed breakfast at the kitchen bar. On our way out for the day, we stopped at Park Life for a coffee and blueberry muffin before checking out the Marine Discovery Centre next door. While it is kid-focused, we also learnt some fun facts about Port Jackson sharks, explored the whale, bird and heritage exhibits and observed the fish and shark tanks. After learning some cool things we decided it was time to enjoy the sunshine. With many coastal walks to choose from we decided on a short walk to Kanning Cave was the best choice, offering something a little different than what we had done before. It was an easy stroll passing by native flowers, white scribbly gums and sandstone rock walls. Eventually we made our way to a large cave where you could crawl inside. After admiring the cave we then made our way back to our Tinyhouse to relax for the afternoon.

The Coastie Valley Tinyhouse is a well designed space with cozy nooks to cuddle up and read a book or option to open up the large doors that flow onto the deck for more freedom to move. Every window offers mesmerising views of layered blues and dark forest greens over the valley, making you feel worlds away from the busyness of life. A standout feature is the outdoor bath and shower, we highly recommend filling up the tub for sunset and watch dusk turn into night enjoying some star gazing and taking in the peacefulness of the property.
